1. Detection significance: Drinking water with turbidity exceeding the national standard indicates that there are many impurities in the water, which may contain substances that are harmful to human health.

3 Operation method: Take two turbidity tubes, one with 50ml of purified or distilled water and the other with 50ml of sample water. Observe the transparency of the two tubes from the side. If there is no difference between the two, the turbidity of the sample can be judged as qualified. If the sample solution is turbid, add a standard suspension at 400 degrees Celsius (NTU) dropwise into a purified water pipe. After adding one drop per drop, shake well and compare it with the sample tube from the side until the turbidity is the same.

4. Calculation and determination of results: Each drop of standard suspension is equivalent to a turbidity (NTU) of 0.4. National standards stipulate that the turbidity of drinking water shall not exceed 1 degree (2.5 drops of standard suspension), and shall not exceed 3 degrees (7.5 drops of standard suspension) when limited by water sources and water purification technology conditions. Small centralized and decentralized water supply should not exceed 5 degrees Celsius (12.5 drops of standard suspension).
5 Remarks
5.1 The following method can also be used for the operation: first, use 50ml of purified water or distilled water, and prepare a standard suspension droplet with a standard degree of control tube as the indicator. At this time, multiple samples can be compared and tested.
When the turbidity of the sample is greater than 10 degrees, the sample solution can be diluted before measurement, and the measurement result can be multiplied by the dilution factor.
5.3 This method is a rapid on-site detection method, and accurate quantification should be based on the national standard method.
