Rapid determination of water quality chromaticity
1. Detection significance: Clean water, colorless when the water layer is shallow, and light blue when the water layer is deep. When water bodies are polluted, they often exhibit discoloration; Water containing humus often appears brown or brownish yellow; Water containing a large amount of algae reproduction appears green or yellow green; Water containing a large amount of iron, manganese, etc. appears yellow brown; Industrial polluted water can exhibit various colors.
2 Operation methods
2.1 Method 1: Take a 10 ml glass colorimetric tube and add 6 drops (0.3ml) or 8 drops (0.4ml) of 500 degree platinum cobalt color standard solution, respectively. Add purified water to the 10 ml mark, which is equivalent to a 15 or 20 degree platinum cobalt color standard reference solution. Take another 10 ml glass colorimetric tube, add water sample to the 10 ml mark, and compare it with the colorimetric standard reference solution.
2.2 Method 2: In order to increase the visibility of chromaticity, a 30 ml plastic colorimetric tube (diameter 30mm) can be taken, and 18 drops (0.9ml) or 24 drops (1.2ml) of 500 degree platinum cobalt chromaticity standard solution can be added. Pure water is added to 30 ml, which is equivalent to 15 or 20 degree platinum cobalt chromaticity standard reference solution. Take another colorimetric tube, add water sample to 30 ml, and compare it with the colorimetric standard reference solution.
3 Explanation
3.1 National standards stipulate that the chromaticity of drinking water should not exceed 15 degrees. Small centralized and decentralized water supply shall not exceed 20 degrees Celsius.
3.2 This method is a rapid on-site detection method, and accurate quantification should be based on the national standard method.
4. Sample configuration: 1 color standard solution and 2 colorimetric tanks.
