1、 Model building method

  1. Mechanical damage method

    • Complete skin excisionUsing a punch to create a circular full-thickness skin defect with a diameter of 1.5-4cm on the back of an animal, reaching a depth of the subcutaneous tissue, suitable for studying the secondary healing process

    • Tangent cuttingCut the skin with a sharp blade to form a linear incision (length 2-4cm), which can be controlled for primary or secondary healing by suturing or not

  2. Low temperature frostbite method

    • Liquid nitrogen pre cooled metal probe (-196 ℃) in contact with the skin surface for 90 seconds induces local ischemic necrosis and is suitable for studying tissue repair after frostbite

  3. Chemical damage method

    • Using acidic/alkaline substances or proteolytic enzymes to disrupt skin structure and simulate necrosis caused by chemical burns


2、 Key points of model selection

  • animal speciesRats (200-250g) or miniature pigs are more commonly used, with the latter having skin structures closer to humans

  • Wound localizationIt is recommended to choose both sides of the back and spine to avoid interference from animal licking
