instrumentb2bNikon releases new generation measuring microscopes MM-400N and MM-800N

Since the early 1950s, Nikon's MM series industrial measuring microscopes have been regularly upgraded, but to a lesser extent than during the recent sixth renovation period. The new generation of products will be unveiled at the Control 2023 exhibition in Stuttgart from May 9th to 12th, and will be unveiled by Nikon's Industrial Metrology Business Unit at booth 5511 in Hall 5.

MM-800N type

The company announced that the new MM-400N and MM-800N series measuring microscopes will be launched by the end of May 2023. Now, both series of apertures have aperture stop control on the transmissive illumination, allowing operators to adjust the aperture to optimize contrast and resolution. You can also set the lighting conditions for measuring cylindrical products.

The newly developed transmissive LED lighting fixture has white and green light sources, and the operator can easily switch from one color to another by simply pressing the switch on the front of the microscope without inserting or removing the filter. In addition, by integrating the transmission illuminating device into the main body of the measuring microscope, the depth of the instrument has been reduced by 30 mm, thereby reducing the installation footprint.

As part of the renovation, Nikon has modernized the appearance of the measuring microscope, adopting the company's new pure white and black coating. In addition, compared to the previous MM-400/MM-800 series models, power consumption has been reduced by 10% ¹. The manufacturer provides environmentally friendly products and complies with the RoHS directive and other laws and regulations.

Many components are common parts of the new and previous series models, including measuring tables, objectives, and optical accessories, which users can continue to use for simple, accurate, and highly reproducible measurement applications.
