The principle of the three electrode method


The measurement principle of the three electrode method is to apply voltage to both ends of the sample using high and low voltage electrodes, measure the current flowing through the sample to calculate the volume resistance of the sample, and thus calculate the resistivity of the sample. At the same time, a grounding shielding electrode in contact with the surface of the test sample is set up around the low-voltage electrode as a third electrode, which directly introduces the surface current of the test sample into the ground to eliminate its influence on the measurement of body current.

Composition of volume surface resistivity tester

ZST-212Volume resistivity surface resistance testerIt mainly includes a testing host (including a DC stabilized power supply and an electrostatic current meter) and a three electrode device.

This measurement system can provide six test voltages ranging from 10V to 1000V, with 100V being commonly used for different test objects.

When measuring, the three electrode device as a whole needs to be placed in a shielding box (host) to create the electromagnetic shielding environment required for the measurement.

During measurement, a sample of appropriate size should be made and surface treated to ensure good contact with the electrode.
