SNT-001BSUsage method of color changing resin

This is a type of strong acidic cation exchange resin with indicator function, which can exchange with cations in water and has obvious color changing characteristics. Not only does it have obvious color changing characteristics (regenerated and failed types are rose red and yellow or blue, respectively), but its exchange ability is also stronger than ordinary resins. Mainly used to measure the cation conductivity of mixed bed effluent from steam and condensate water treatment, commonly used for monitoring the cooling water in power plant steam turbines, as well as in electronic instruments, food and pharmaceutical industries, and other fields.

When using color changing resin to measure the hydrogen conductivity of steam and condensate treatment mixed bed effluent, the resin is installed in a transparent exchange column with a diameter of 50mm. The cations in the water are exchanged and converted into hydrogen ions by the resin, greatly improving the sensitivity of monitoring cations in water. At the same time, the color changes significantly when the resin fails, indicating the working status of the exchange column.

3、 After the resin fails, it can be poured out for collection and replaced with new resin to continue running.

Collecting more resin multiple times can regenerate it together.

Regeneration method:

1. After filling the resin, regeneration is carried out by using a hydrochloric acid solution with a concentration of 3-5% and a volume 3-5 times the volume of the resin

2. The regeneration flow rate is 0.5-2.0BV/hour. The acid passage time is more than 1 hour.

3. Then clean with desalinated water at a flow rate of 2-5 BV/hour. Wash to neutral pH for later use.

4. The general usage is minimal, and the labor cost of acid and desalinated water during regeneration is not worth the loss. The units of use are all based on one-time use.

Color changing cation exchange resin

Scope of use of color changing resin:

Monitoring and controlling the hydrogen conductivity of feedwater, condensate, and steam is an important means to ensure the quality of water vapor and control corrosion and scaling in the water vapor system of thermal power plants.

Due to the frequent changes in ammonia concentration and sampling flow rate in water vapor, as well as factors such as unit start-up and shutdown, it is difficult to determine when the H-type exchange column will fail. In the initial stage of H-type exchange column failure, due to the penetration of a small amount of ammonium ions, the measured hydrogen conductivity value is low; When the H-type exchange column * fails, a large amount of ammonium ions pass through, and the hydrogen conductivity measurement value is also higher. Therefore, when the failure of the exchange column causes a change in hydrogen conductivity, it is difficult to timely determine whether it is due to water quality deterioration or exchange column failure. The current solution adopted abroad is to use color changing cation exchange resin. The color of the failed layer is different from that of the non failed layer. Precautions and key points for resin/

Softened water resins are generally divided into two types: cationic resins and anionic resins. As the name suggests, the two resins are used to adsorb (exchange) cations such as Ca and Mg and anions such as NO3 and SO4 ions in water. The alkalinity of water treated with cations and the acidity of water treated with anions are related to their different adsorption of ions. The two types of resins are essentially indistinguishable in appearance, both appearing as yellow brown particles that are slightly larger and lighter than millet grains.

Softened water resin

In the chemical water production workshop of the power plant, after passing through the cation bed (filled with cation resin) and anion bed (anion resin), the hardness can reach zero, and the conductivity is also very low, which is called softened water. The so-called Yin bed and Yang bed are essentially a large tank, where hard water is turned into soft water through the resin inside the tank. Because the water passing through has a certain pressure and flow rate, the resin is churning in the tank. Therefore, in some places, this type of tank is also called a "boiling bed", which refers to a type of thing. The process of making purified water in a factory is roughly the same, but the purified water still needs to be treated. The cost of large-scale production of softened water is not high.

Softened water resin

The common method is to place anionic resin and cationic resin separately in different compartments of the external filter, because the external filter has good sealing performance and can also be considered for loose placement. This basically increases the contact area and time, fully utilizing the resin, which also reflects the effectiveness of the external filter. When using an upper filter, the resin can be wrapped in gauze like activated carbon, with one type of resin placed on top and another type of resin separated by a layer of filter cotton. The effect can also be achieved.

Softened water resin

Some people, in order to increase the ion softening effect, stir the resin particles in the container after passing through water (or at least with a certain flow rate), increasing the contact area and time. If conditions permit, they can try it out, and the effect is very good. There are several key points to such a device: first, there should be a water pump that generates a certain pressure; second, there should be two cans the size of Coca Cola bottles, with pipes connected to both ends; third, there should be filters at both ends of the cans to prevent resin particle loss; fourth, the order and amount of resin should be appropriate.

In order to extend the working cycle and service life of the resin, reduce consumption and costs, appropriate pretreatment of the sugar solution must be carried out before passing through the resin column.
