Thermogravimetric analysis refers to a thermal analysis method that measures the relationship between the mass of a substance and temperature or time under programmed temperature and certain atmospheric conditions, and obtains a thermogravimetric (TG) curve.

Setline TGA experimental case:
1,Using SETLINE TGACompare the temperature resistance of four different O-ring materials: NBR (nitrile rubber), EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer), PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), and FPM (fluorinated rubber).

Experimental setup: For each material, weigh a sample of 30mg ± 2mg and place it in an alumina crucible. Heat the crucible at a rate of 10K/min from 30 ° C to 700 ° C,Atmosphere with a flow rate of 30ml/min and nitrogen protection
Under the same experimental conditions, a blank experiment was conducted using an empty alumina crucible,To eliminate the influence of buoyancy effect in the experiment
Experimental results: NBR nitrile rubber and EPDM ternary ethylene propylene rubber begin to decompose at around 210 ℃. At 700 ℃, the quality losses were 54.67% and 55.41%, respectively. FPM has better thermal stability than NBR and EPDM, with a decomposition temperature of around 270 ℃.
PTFE is relatively stableYes, at 480℃Start to decompose left and right. However, its decomposition rate is higher than the other three elastomers, with a mass loss of 99.97% at the end of heating.

Experimental setup: Weigh a 40mg sample of nylon 6,6 and place it in an alumina crucible. Heat the crucible at a rate of 5k/min from 25 ℃ to 250 ℃, maintain the temperature at 250 ℃ for 90 minutes, and protect it with nitrogen gas at a flow rate of 30ml/min
Experimental results: The mass loss corresponding to the humidity and volatile levels inside the material is 1.87%. The determination of moisture content requires precise measurement, and the suspended upper balance design of SETLINE TGA is very suitable for this type of test.
3Using SETLINE TGA for compositional analysis of mineral powders

Experimental setup: Place a small amount (20 mg) of mineral powder into a platinum crucible, heat it from 30 ℃ to 1100 ℃ at a heating rate of 5 ℃/min, and protect it with nitrogen gas at a flow rate of 30ml/min
Experimental results: For the mineral samples studied, the following results were obtained:
From 30 ℃ to 360 ℃, the emission of volatile compounds is 0.59%
2. From 360 ℃ to 585 ℃, magnetite dissociation causes mass loss: MgCO3 MgO+CO2
From 585 ℃ to 693 ℃, due to the two-step decomposition of dolomite, there is a loss of quality. When they occur at almost the same temperature, these steps look like a mass loss: CaMg (CO)3)2→CaCO3+ MgO + CO2And then CaCO3→ CaO + CO2
4. Quality loss due to talc decomposition from 693 ℃ to 1100 ℃: Mg3Si4O10(OH)2→ 3MgSiO3+ SiO2+ H2O

Warranty and Follow up
The instrument manufacturer provides a one-year warranty for the entire product sold from the date of installation and acceptance. During the warranty period, the instrument manufacturer shall appoint technical engineers to provide free maintenance, upkeep, and replacement of non-human damaged or defective parts for the buyer's equipment, and conduct regular follow-up visits to the buyer. After the equipment warranty period, the instrument manufacturer shall provide lifelong preferential technical support for the equipment.
Technical engineers shall visit the buyer at least once a year (for a period of no less than 10 years, in the form of on-site or telephone communication) to understand the use of the instrument and provide guidance.
