Pulsar Process flowmeter applied for measuring inside pipelines
The DFM6.1 series flow meters from Pulsar Process mainly use non-contact clamping installationHowever, internal measurement of pipelines can be achieved through immersion sensors of specific models (such as AVFM6.1), which are suitable for synchronous monitoring of liquid level and flow velocity in open channels or pipelines.

1Implementation method for internal measurement of pipelines
AVFM6.1 Area Velocity Flow Meter
Sensor installation: Immersion ultrasonic sensors are used, directly installed inside the pipeline or at the bottom of the channel, to calculate flow rate by measuring liquid level and flow velocity.
Applicable scenarios: Open channel flow monitoring (such as inflow, outflow, wastewater, rainwater, industrial wastewater, irrigation water, etc.), and can also be used for flow measurement of partially full or overcharged pipes.
Technical characteristics:
No need for water tanks or dams, reducing construction costs.
No moving parts, avoiding wear, scaling, or blockage.
Support flow monitoring with irregular or composite channel shapes.
Flexible application of DFM6.1 Doppler flowmeter
Non contact principle: The DFM6.1 series defaults to emitting ultrasonic waves from the outside of the pipeline through a clamped sensor, using the Doppler effect to measure the reflection signal of solid particles or bubbles in the fluid, and indirectly calculate the flow velocity.
Indirect internal measurement: Although not in direct contact with liquids, it achieves "internal flow velocity sensing" through non-invasive methods, suitable for pipelines with inner diameters ranging from 12.7 millimeters to 4.5 meters, covering most industrial scenarios.

IIAdvantages of measuring inside pipelines
High precision and adaptability
The immersion sensor of AVFM6.1 can simultaneously measure liquid level and flow rate, with an accuracy of ± 2% reading or ± 0.03 meters/second (whichever is greater), repeatability of ± 0.1%, and linearity of ± 0.5%.
Support high aeration fluids or fluids with high suspended solids concentration (such as slurry, tailings slurry), suitable for complex media.
Installation convenience
AVFM6.1 can automatically calculate flow rate by simply inputting pipeline diameter or channel size, and the configuration time only takes a few minutes.
The DFM6.1 series does not require cutting pipes or downtime, and the clamping installation is quickly completed, reducing deployment costs.
Data Management and Integration
Built in data logger (such as AVFM6.1 supporting 6.5 million point recording), supports USB output and Windows software analysis.
Provide isolated 4-20mA output, Modbus RTU or HART protocol for easy integration with industrial systems such as SCADA and DCS.
