When the cylinder piston (or diaphragm) loses air, it drives the cylinder push rod to return to the initial position of the cylinder (the original position of the stroke) under the action of the spring. Working principle of pneumatic globe valve: Most valves that use compressed air as a power source are remotely controlled, and the action command is manually or automatically triggered by the main control room to activate the intake and exhaust solenoid valves and supply and exhaust compressed air to the actuator. Compressed air acts on the piston or diaphragm, overcoming the frictional force of valve action and the spring force on the valve stem, thereby pressing down (for valve loss opening) or lifting (for valve loss closing) the valve stem, driving the valve core to move up and down, and opening or closing the valve.

Installation and maintenance precautions

1. The shut-off valve operated by handwheel and handle can be installed at any position in the pipeline.

2. Handwheels, handles, and dynamic mechanisms are not allowed for lifting purposes.

3. The flow direction of the medium should be consistent with the arrow direction shown on the valve body.

4. Stainless steel globe valves belong to forced sealing valves, so when the valve is closed, pressure must be applied to the valve disc to force the sealing surface not to leak. When the medium enters valve six from below the valve disc, the resistance that the operating force needs to overcome is the frictional force between the valve stem and the packing, as well as the thrust generated by the pressure of the medium. The force required to close the valve is greater than the force required to open it, so the diameter of the valve stem should be larger, otherwise the valve stem will bend due to failure. In recent years, with the emergence of self sealing valves, the flow of medium has shifted from above the valve disc into the valve chamber. Under the pressure of the medium, the force required to close the valve is small, while the force required to open the valve is large, resulting in a corresponding reduction in the diameter of the valve stem. Meanwhile, under the influence of the medium, this type of valve is also relatively tight. The "Three Modernizations" of valves in our country once stipulated that the flow direction of globe valves should be from top to bottom.

5. The structure of the globe valve is simple, and it can be opened or closed by the principle of the valve stem rotating and lifting, ensuring the sealing and upper sealing function of the valve. Due to the special motion principle of this structure, it also causes extremely unfavorable consequences for the force between the sealing pairs on the valve (forming both the necessary vertical pressure between the sealing pairs and the friction of relative sliding between the sealing pairs). Practice has proven that the upper seal of a valve often only opens and closes a few times, causing leakage due to scratches between the sealing pairs. Minor scratches need to be disassembled for repair, while severe scratches are scrapped due to damage. This not only increases the manufacturing cost of the enterprise, but also affects the performance of the valve. Experiments and improvements were conducted on the structure and materials of the valve seals to address such issues.
