UVIC Day Blind UV Camera Testing System
The sun blind UV camera is an imaging device optimized for detecting ultraviolet wavelengths below 280nm. UV cameras are insensitive to sunlight due to their very low sensitivity to visible and long wave UV light waves. Sun blind UV cameras are applied in a series of important fields, such as corona detection, fire detection, combustion analysis, plasma research, testing UV light sources, etc. However, high sensitivity corona detection is a crucial and important application, especially in the power industry where it plays a vital role. UV imaging equipment is used to detect defects and distribution of insulation in high-voltage transmission lines. UV cameras detect the location of defects by collecting corona radiation generated at the location of insulation defects. From a design perspective, the sun blind UV camera is actually a dual spectral imaging system based on coupling UV cameras with typical visible light cameras, so that the images output by the UV camera are typical visible light images generated by the analyzed UV source and matched with UV images.

UVIC working mode
The UVIC testing system consists of four main modules: the UVIC main module, a set of targets, a portable computer, and control software. The UVIC main module can be further divided into three modules: daylight box, test box, non daylight box, and a series of attenuators.
The tested UV camera is located at a distance of approximately 1-3m from the UVIC testing system and is placed opposite the testing system.
The UVIC testing system is equipped with a series of replaceable targets (three bar targets, triangular targets, circular hole targets, etc.), and any one of the three targets can be located in an effective position between the daylight box and the non daylight box. The two testing boxes simultaneously illuminate the testing targets to generate short wave UV (sun blind band) and long wave UV/visible light (daylight band) target patterns. A very wide range of adjustment can be made between the radiation intensity in the non solar band and the solar band (with a dynamic adjustment range exceeding 10 in the non solar blind band)12). The images generated by the tested UV camera are collected by the UVIC testing system, and the final electronic images are analyzed to determine the parameters of the tested UV camera.
