Equine viral arteritis (EVA) is a common disease of horses caused by the equine arteritis virus (EAV). Sick horses have elevated body temperature, stiff gait, dehydration and swelling of the external reproductive tract, edema around the eyes, rhinitis, and miscarriage in pregnant horses.


Equine disease toxic arteritis is an acute infectious disease transmitted through the respiratory tract and reproductive organs. The World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) has classified this disease as a Class II infectious disease, which is listed as a Class II animal infectious disease in the "List of Entry Animal Quarantine Diseases of the People's Republic of China".
