Product Description:
DORM-5 is a certified reference material (CRM) for fish protein by the National Research Council (NRC) of Canada, containing information on total trace element and species content. One unit of DORM-5 is composed of approximately 18 grams of fish protein in an amber glass vial.
Table 1 shows the authentication values, reference values, and information values established for DORM-5. The extended uncertainty related to certification values and reference values is calculated according to JCGM guidelines [1], corresponding to a confidence level of approximately 95% (K=2). All listed values are based on dry mass.
Expected use:
DORM-5 aims to develop, validate, and quality control methods for the analysis of trace and matrix components in marine animal populations and similar sample matrices.
Storage and usage instructions:
Storage and Sampling:
It is recommended to store the material at around -20 ℃ or below under typical freezing conditions. Each small bottle is packed in a three-layer foil bag. Before use, the small bottle should be heated to room temperature, the contents thoroughly mixed, and then immediately sealed. The certification value is based on the sub sample with a minimum of 250 milligrams.
Drying instructions:
To obtain dry weight, the sample should be evenly divided and dried to a constant mass. The estimated moisture content of DORM-5 is approximately 0.04 g/g.
Preparation of materials:
This reference material was prepared from commercial fish protein homogenate. After removing the bones and most of the oil, the material is produced using an enzymatic hydrolysis process. The protein hydrolysates are quickly pasteurized, dried by spray, sieved to pass through 850 micron nylon sieve, mixed and packed in amber glass bottles. After bottling, disinfect the materials by irradiating them with a low dose of 25 kGy of gamma rays.
Stability:
stability
The stability of DORM-5 has been evaluated and it is believed to have physical and chemical stability during long-term storage and transportation. Use a similar CRM to evaluate long-term stability through agents and conduct transportation stability studies using isothermal methods at high temperatures.
