Product Description:
Chondroic acid (DA) is a toxin that can cause forgetful shellfish poisoning incidents on the east and west coasts of North America [1,2]. CRM-ASP-Mus-d is a homogenate of mussel tissue (mussel) containing DA and several related compounds (Figure 1 and Figure 2). This is a replacement CRM for the exhausted product CRM-ASP-Mus-c released in 2005. The organization undergoes thermal stabilization, homogenization, and heat sealing in polypropylene bottles, and is packaged in three-layer bags. Each bag contains two bottles of 4g homogenate, with DA content suitable for analysis and testing. Using high recovery extraction method and liquid chromatography quantification method, combined with UV absorption and mass spectrometry detection, the concentrations of DA and isomeric C5 '- epi DA in CRM-ASP-Mus-d were determined (Table 1).

Expected use:
CRM-ASP-Mus-d is a mussel tissue matrix CRM containing DA and some of its isomers. Its purpose is to test the accuracy of the entire analytical method or assist in the development of new analytical methods. This may include but is not limited to sample extraction procedures and liquid chromatography, detection by mass spectrometry (LC-MS) or ultraviolet absorbance (LC-UV). CRM-ASP-Mus-d is also valuable for testing separation methods as it contains several DA isomers. The attached chromatograms (Figure 3 and Figure 4) show the DA curve in CRM-ASP-Mus-d.
Storage instructions:
CRM-ASP-Mus-d should be stored in a refrigerator (-12 ℃ or below) to ensure stability.
Instructions for Use:
Before opening, each bottle should be heated to room temperature and the contents should be thoroughly mixed by vortexing for at least 2 minutes. Each bottle contains approximately 4 grams (± 0.5 grams) of tissue paper. The quality of the homogenate has not been certified. Carefully remove the seal with a knife or blade, mix the contents with a spatula, and weigh the sample on an analytical balance. It is not recommended to collect sub samples from a single bottle of CRM-ASR Mus-d; Ideally, the entire 4G portion should be used for analysis. Once the organization is accurately weighed and placed into the extraction container, it can be processed using internal DA analysis methods.
