In many countries, the number of asbestos related mesothelioma is still increasing or maintaining a high level. In order to improve early screening programs for workers with a history of asbestos exposure, minimally invasive biomarkers are urgently needed. At present, calprotectin is one of the effective biomarkers for immunohistochemical diagnosis of mesothelioma. The purpose of this study is to establish a novel enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for detecting human calprotectin and evaluate its performance as a blood biomarker for diagnosing pleural mesothelioma.
Calcium omentum proteinIt is a promising biomarker that can be detected in blood samples of epithelioid and biphasic cutaneous tumor cases. The new calcium omentum enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) test results are reliable, highly sensitive, and can be used for the detection of serum and plasma samples. Therefore, the calcium omentum protein ELISA may be able to supplement other blood based markers, for example, as part of a marker plate. However, more research is needed - with more cases and different control groups - to evaluate the effectiveness of the new detection method for the diagnosis of mesothelioma. In order to explore potential applications in early detection of mesothelioma, we are currently using a prospective cohort of samples to validate the calprotectin assay kit (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay), which includes former asbestos workers with asbestosis.

It reacts calcium retinal protein with a special antibody to form an antibody calcium retinal protein complex and release a certain proportion of antibodies. Then, by measuring the antibodies released by these immune complexes, the concentration value of calcium retinal protein can be obtained. According to this principle, a specific antibody is added to the filter membrane in the reagent kit, while a special luminescent dye and serum albumin (BSA) additive are added to the sieve plate. When the sample passes through the filter membrane, calcium retinal protein can bind to antibodies and form an immune complex. Then, this immune complex can be transferred onto the sieve plate through the guidance of luminescent dyes and serum albumin additives on the sieve plate. Finally, the concentration of calcium retinal protein can be determined by measuring the luminescence intensity on the sieve plate, where the higher the concentration value, the greater the luminescence intensity.
