Product Description:

Cylindrospermopsin (CYN) is a blue-green algae toxin associated with poisoning events. CRM-CYN is a certified instrument calibration solution designed to assist analysts in determining CYN. Each ampoule contains approximately 0.5 mL of CYN solution dissolved in filtered deionized water, with a concentration suitable for calibration and recovery of control samples in liquid chromatography experiments.

It has been found that toxins are stable under these conditions. When the solution is stored in a reliable non defrosting freezer (≤ -20 ℃), the solution is also stable. CRM is prepared under conditions that minimize bacterial contamination, but it is recommended to store aliquots and dilutions of CRM frozen (≤ -20 ℃).

Instructions for Use:

Before opening, each ampoule should be warmed to room temperature and the contents thoroughly mixed. The ampoule should be inverted several times, then kept upright, lightly tapped to ensure the solution is drained to the bottom, and opened at the pre marked area. After opening the ampoule, accurate aliquots should be taken using calibrated volumetric equipment and transferred to volumetric or small bottles. If the solution is opened for more than a few minutes, the concentration will increase due to the evaporation of the solvent. Due to potential loss on the glass surface, it is recommended to evaporate CRMnot to dryness. A useful procedure for ensuring accurate dilution involves using a balance to determine the weight of the divided aliquots and the final diluted solution, assuming water is used as the diluent.
