The function of 8-arm PEG

As the molecular backbone and multi arm connection platform, it ensures the material's hydrophilicity, flexibility, resistance to non-specific protein adsorption, and good biocompatibility. The eight arm structure provides high spatial accessibility, enabling efficient covalent or molecular crosslinking, uniform network, and stable structure.

The function of Maleimide (1 arm)

As a thiol specific reaction inlet, it can be achieved through Michael conjugate addition rapidly and selectively couples with SH (such as Cys, thiolated PEG, thiol peptides or proteins), mainly responsible for directional crosslinking or biomolecule anchoring, generating stable thioether bonds and providing controllable single thiol reaction sites.
