(N3) ₇ -8ARM-PEG-AC is an eight armed heterodFunctional derivative with one acrylate end group and seven azide (- N3) end groups.

Core reaction characteristics

7 azide arms (- N ∝):Highly selective and efficient click coupling with alkynes or strain alkynes (such as DBCO) can achieve mild grafting or crosslinking of biomolecules.

1 acrylic arm (- AC):It is suitable for free radical polymerization (photoinitiation or thermal initiation) to build 3D polymer networks, especially hydrogels/scaffolds with adjustable mechanics and structure.

Typical Applications in Biomedicine

1. Organizational Engineering

The AC arm is cross-linked into a hydrogel or scaffold, and the azide arm is clicked to connect cell adhesion molecules (such as polypeptides), so that cells can better attach and grow for tissue repair and 3D cell culture.

2. Drug delivery

After the material network is completed, the azide arm clicks to connect drugs or targeted molecules, creating a slow release or stimulus responsive (such as acid or enzyme triggered) carrier for local drug delivery and controlled release therapy.

3. Biological imaging/diagnosis

The azide arm can be connected to fluorescent or detection probes for imaging labeling, tracing, or sensing detection, which is used for medical imaging and in vitro diagnosis.

4. Surface coating of instruments

The azide arm is grafted with anti protein/anticoagulant/anti-inflammatory molecules on the surface to form a PEG coating that is anti fouling, anti thrombotic, and reduces rejection. It is used for catheters, artificial blood tubes, implanted electrodes, etc.
