Types of resin meters

1、 Overview of Resin Meter:

Gear type resin flowmeter is a precision flow measurement instrument, which is a new generation of elliptical gear flowmeter with the characteristics of simple structure, lightweight, high accuracy, good reproducibility, sensitive response, easy installation, maintenance and use. It can be used to measure the instantaneous flow rate and cumulative flow rate of liquids when matched with corresponding flow accumulation instruments. High measurement accuracy, less affected by liquid viscosity, and no need to install a straight pipe section in front of the meter, making it an ideal instrument for flow measurement and energy saving. Widely used in metrology, control systems, and cumulative flow measurement of high viscosity media in fields such as petroleum, chemical, metallurgical, and scientific research.

2、 Working principle of resin meter:

When the medium flows in the measuring tube, due to its own kinetic energy and pressure difference with the target plate, a force is generated on the target plate, causing a slight displacement of the target plate. The magnitude of the force is proportional to the square of the medium flow velocity, and its mathematical formula is:

F = Cd·A·ρ·V2/2

F: The force acting on the target plate

Cd: Fluid resistance coefficient

A: Target plate on the axial projection area of the measuring tube

ρ: Density of medium under working conditions

V: Characteristic flow velocity of the medium in the measuring tube

3、 Technical parameters of resin meter:

Accuracy level: ordinary type 0.5 level, high-precision 0.2 level

Pressure resistance: ordinary type 1.6MPa, high-pressure type 3.2MPa

Temperature resistance: ordinary type<120 ℃, high-pressure type<200 ℃

Material of flowmeter production: cast iron, cast steel, stainless steel, etc

Before installation, the pipeline should be cleaned. If the liquid contains solid particles, a filter must be installed upstream of the pipeline; The heavy oil flowmeter does not have certain requirements for the front and rear straight pipe sections. It can be installed horizontally or vertically. During installation, the elliptical gear rotation axis of the flowmeter should be parallel to the ground

Flow measurement is independent of the flow state of the fluid, as the elliptical gear flowmeter relies on the pressure head of the measured medium to drive the elliptical gear to rotate for measurement.

The higher the viscosity of the medium, the smaller the amount of leakage from the gear and measuring space gap. Therefore, the larger the viscosity of the measured medium, the smaller the leakage error, and the more advantageous it is for measurement.

Resin flow meters have high measurement accuracy, but are not suitable for fluids containing solid particles (solid particles can cause gears to get stuck, making it impossible to measure flow). If gas is mixed in the measured liquid medium, it can also cause measurement errors.

4、 How to improve the measurement accuracy of resin meters:

1. Correct selection

After selecting the type of flowmeter, the next crucial step is to choose the specifications and supporting components of the flowmeter. Because only when the selection is correct, can customers use it well. However, in the selection process, two basic principles must be adhered to: one is to ensure the accuracy of use, and the other is to ensure production safety. To achieve these two points, it is necessary to implement three selection parameters: 1. short-term and long-term size 2. commonly used instantaneous flow rate 3. design pressure and working pressure of the measured medium.

2. Calibration before use

Firstly, considering that there are still some difficulties in on-site calibration of this type of flow meter, and secondly, if the purchase is to use this flow meter for important measurement occasions, such as high flow trade measurement or measurement points with prominent measurement disputes, and the on-site conditions for flow calibration are not available, then it is too early to easily judge that all the performance of the flow meter is qualified based solely on a certificate of conformity provided by the manufacturer at the time of purchase. Therefore, in order to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the measurement results of the flowmeter in future use, it is necessary to send the flowmeter to a qualified testing department for a full flow range system calibration before formal on-site installation.

3. Rigorous process installation

Although this type of flowmeter does not have many special requirements for process installation and usage environment, any type of flowmeter has a commonality of avoiding vibration and high temperature environment as much as possible, keeping the inner wall of the straight pipe section before and after the flowmeter smooth and straight, and ensuring that the measured medium is a clean unidirectional fluid.

4. Strengthen post management

Although flow meters have various automatic disposal functions and low power consumption characteristics, they still need to be strengthened in management after being put into operation. For example, in order to ensure the long-term stability and accuracy of flow meter operation, regular system calibration should be carried out, meter head data should be copied, medium parameters should be replaced, battery condition should be checked irregularly, flow meter coefficient and lead seal should be checked, etc.

5. Pay attention to internal maintenance

If it is necessary to inspect or clean the measuring chamber and its components of the flow meter due to impurities in the gas medium or other reasons, special attention should be paid to the following points: for flow meters of the same style and specification, their occurrence bodies Core components such as guide bodies cannot be interchanged, otherwise, the measurement coefficients of the instruments need to be recalibrated, and the temperature and pressure sensors equipped with them need to be coefficient corrected.

5、 Summary of Resin Meter:
The correct use of elliptical gear flowmeter is necessary to ensure the measurement accuracy of the product: elliptical gear flowmeter usually has a cumulative value accuracy of up to 0.5 level, which is a relatively accurate flow measurement instrument. However, if the flow rate of the measured medium is too low during use, the impact of instrument leakage errors will become prominent, and sufficient measurement accuracy cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, different models and specifications of elliptical gear flow meters have an allowable value for small flow rates, and the measurement accuracy can only be guaranteed when the actual measured flow rate is greater than the lower limit flow rate allowable value.

Secondly, when using an elliptical gear flowmeter, it is important to note that the temperature of the measured medium should not be too high, otherwise it will not only increase measurement errors but also have the potential to cause gear jamming. Therefore, the elliptical gear flowmeter is used within the specified temperature range of the instrument. After long-term use, the internal gears of the elliptical gear flowmeter will be corroded and worn, which will affect the measurement accuracy.

Therefore, it is important to regularly observe and dismantle for inspection. If conditions permit, calibration should be carried out regularly. When selecting, pay attention to how much the medium temperature will affect the measured product. Ensure that the medium temperature is within the measurement range of the instrument. Only by meeting the requirements of the instrument can the instrument work normally and the measured data be accurate.
