working principle

Under the influence of an external magnetic field, matter will be magnetized and exhibit certain magnetic properties. When a substance is magnetized in an external magnetic field, it generates an additional magnetic field. When the direction of the additional magnetic field is the same as that of the external magnetic field, the substance is attracted by the external magnetic field; When the direction is opposite, it is repelled by the external magnetic field. The substance attracted by an external magnetic field is called a paramagnetic substance, or in other words, the substance has paramagnetism; The substance that is repelled by an external magnetic field is called a diamagnetic substance, or in other words, the substance has diamagnetism.

Gas media can also be magnetized in a magnetic field, exhibiting paramagnetism or diamagnetism depending on the type of gas. O2, NO, NO2, etc. are paramagnetic gases, while H2, N2, CO2, CH4, etc. are diamagnetic gases.

After the measured oxygen enters the magnetic field, the pressure of the gas will change under the action of the magnetic field, resulting in a pressure difference between the gas in the magnetic field and the space without the magnetic field. There is a proportional relationship between oxygen concentration and pressure difference, so magnetic pressure can be used to analyze oxygen concentration.
