Salmonella serum

Used for typing suspected Salmonella strains identified through biochemical tests, suitable for common Salmonella strains that require typing.

Principle of Inspection

This product is prepared by immunizing rabbits with inactivated bacterial antigens made from representative strains of Salmonella, either separately or in combination. After absorbing and removing non-specific lectins, the serum is used to determine the common bacterial types of Salmonella using the principle of slide agglutination test.

Storage conditions and expiration date

Stored in the dark at 2-8 ℃, with a validity period of 24 months from the date of self inspection and qualification.

1. After preliminary biochemical examination, it is suspected to be a strain of Salmonella.

2. Strains suspected of Salmonella through biochemical testing should be cultured on regular nutrient agar medium at 35-37 ℃ for 18-20 hours to obtain fresh bacterial cells that can be used for serum agglutination tests.

The tested bacteria should first be identified for their O antigen using O multivalent serum and 0 factor serum, and if necessary, their Vi antigen should be identified using Vi serum. Then, their flagellar antigen should be identified using daily serum, referring to the Salmonella genus typing antigen table, and based on biochemical reaction characteristics, bacterial typing should be made. Operation method: Drop 1-2 drops of blood serum on a clean glass slide, then take a small amount of the tested bacterial moss and mix it with the serum. Gently shake the slide and visually judge the result within 1 minute.
