The number of analytical channels refers to the ability of a chromatograph to analyze samples from multiple sampling points (channels). At present, the maximum number of flow paths for chromatographic analysis is 31 (including calibration flow paths). In actual use, there are generally 1-3 flow paths, and in rare cases, there are 4 flow paths. But it should be noted that the following points:

① For the same chromatograph, the composition of each flow channel sample should be roughly the same, as they use the same set of chromatographic columns for separation;

② The interval time for analyzing a certain channel is the time it takes to analyze all channels once, so multi channel analysis comes at the cost of prolonging the analysis cycle. Of course, it is also possible to analyze a certain channel more frequently and other channels less frequently as needed. In short, multi channel analysis will reduce the analysis frequency, making it impossible to guarantee DCS's requirements for analysis time.


It is generally recommended to use one chromatograph for analysis. However, for a dual channel chromatograph (with two column systems and detectors), it has the functionality of two chromatographs and can be considered as having two chromatographs.
