Measurement of imported pneumatic instruments for automotive parts, oil pump housings

How to measure the positional accuracy of gearbox parts without any mathematical calculations is not an easy problem. One solution is to use an Edmunds manual measurement workstation, which can measure the diameter and positional tolerance of all locating pin holes and gear holes. Edmunds' computer-aided measurement system (CAG) calculates the X and Y coordinates of the hole and the center distance of the gear shaft hole. Workers only need to look at the measurement data on the monitor to know if the pump body and pump cover can be assembled together.

Workstations are also used to measure the depth and flatness of hole surfaces. Thirty two pneumatic measuring heads accurately measure parts. The measurement tolerance is generally around 5 μ m. The measurement repeatability accuracy of the workstation reaches a high of 0.5 μ m. Three workstations can exchange tooling fixtures. They can measure different pump bodies and pump covers. When measuring different parts, the computer-aided measurement system (CAG) will automatically change the set parameters.
