Both electro spray and electrostatic {essence} are electrokinetic mechanisms used to manufacture nano/particles and nano/microfibers. The basis of two processes is to apply electrostatic forces to generate charged jets from viscoelastic polymer solutions. Once the process is completed, the solvent will evaporate in a timely manner and obtain nano micron structures. The concentration of polymer solution determines the structure of the obtained material. Spherical particles were observed at lower solution concentrations. When the concentration approaches the critical value, it usually produces bead like morphology, that is, electrospun fibers with particles. Higher than the critical solution concentration can produce uniform fibers.


Once they are shaped into masks, these membranes can provide a balance of protection and comfort during breathing. Nanofiber membranes are usually soft, so they are added to the support layer to improve their mechanical properties. The design of the filter medium consists of three layers, with a nanofiber layer added between two non-woven substrate layers.
