Both electro spray and electrostatic {essence} are electrokinetic mechanisms used to manufacture nano/particles and nano/microfibers. The basis of two processes is to apply electrostatic forces to generate charged jets from viscoelastic polymer solutions. Once the process is completed, the solvent will evaporate in a timely manner and obtain nano micron structures. The concentration of polymer solution determines the structure of the obtained material. Spherical particles were observed at lower solution concentrations. When the concentration approaches the critical value, it usually produces bead like morphology, that is, electrospun fibers with particles. Higher than the critical solution concentration can produce uniform fibers.

Researchers are working hard to modify the process of static refinement nanofiber filters, aiming to increase the yield during the static refinement process while maintaining sufficiently low fiber size. Inovenso has successfully developed a hybrid static precision technology that uses specially designed nozzles to replace standardized needles. This new technology has increased productivity by four times while still being able to produce nanofiber layers with low fiber diameter and high yield. Inovenso also produces its own electrospun nanofiber filters designed specifically for air filtration applications. These Inofilters can be used as filter media for half face masks, including N95/N99 filter masks.
