MBW473 Cold Mirror Dew Point Meter
High performance cold mirror hygrometer equipped with cables and measuring probes
MBW473 Cold Mirror Dew Point Meter Product Description
High precision cold mirror dew point technology
The freezing mirror condensation technology provides high-precision, stable, and reproducible measurement results. Water vapor condenses on a temperature controlled mirror surface, and the dew point formed can be directly detected using advanced optical and electronic technology. Due to dew point being specific to water vapor concentration rather than temperature, the measurement accuracy is consistent across the entire application range, including meteorological laboratories under high temperature and high humidity conditions.
Due to the use of high-quality materials and Swiss precision engineering, the typical service life of MBW cold mirror hygrometer exceeds 15 years. High quality platinum resistance thermometer (PRT) components are embedded in the mirror to ensure long-term measurement stability. Due to accurate dew point and temperature measurements, as well as stability and long lifespan, MBW cold mirrors are used by laboratories certified by national standards around the world. 473 converts reference standard performance into applications such as climate chamber validation, relative humidity calibrators, and various industrial processes.
Is it dew or frost?
When the temperature is below 0 ° C (32 ° F), water will condense into a liquid or solid state (dew or frost). The temperature difference when the condensation layer is stable can reach up to 3 ° C (37.4 ° F), therefore, in order to correctly calculate or verify parameters such as relative humidity, it is necessary to know the state of the condensation. As shown in the figure on the right, there may also be dew and frost on the mirror at the same time; This leads to an unstable value at a certain position between the dew point and frost point.
ForceFrost feature
When the temperature is lower than the user set temperature, the ForceFrost function of 473 will rapidly cool down the mirror, forcing the condensation layer into the solid phase. This eliminates the uncertainty of measuring dew point or frost point.
