Comprehensive contrast observation method combination
Leica Microsystems has developed two focusing lenses for Leica DMIL LED, which are suitable for corresponding contrast observation methods across the entire magnification range. They can be used for phase difference observation with up to 63X objective lenses, as well as integrated modulation contrast (IMC) observation with 40X objective lenses

The phase difference observation method is mainly used for live cell microscopy examination: the three prefabricated phase difference rings on the Leica DMIL LED slider can adapt to all objectives within the 5X-63X range. When switching between phase difference observation and bright field observation methods, the intelligent LED lighting device can automatically adjust the light intensity.

Integrated Modulation Contrast (IMC) can present relief images. Unlike traditional differential interferometry observation methods, the IMC developed by Leica Microsystems does not require a special objective lens. The two spotlights and standard 10X, 20X, 32X, and 40X objectives that come with DMIL LED provide IMC observation method.

Flexible fluorescence applications

DMIL LED fluo provides an integrated module for incident light fluorescence, which can be used simultaneously for both transmitted light observation and fluorescence observation to clearly distinguish target structures. The optimized color filter block minimizes stray light to the greatest extent possible, and the built-in light shield can protect the specimen from bleaching.

Users can freely choose conventional lighting devices (halogen lamps, mercury lamps, or high-pressure xenon lamps), Leica EL6000 optocoupler, and Leica's new LED lighting device as fluorescent light sources.

Comfortable operation

The control components designed with ergonomics, such as focal length dial, brightness controller, spotlight height adjuster, objective lens turntable, and XY axis stage adjustment, ensure more comfortable user operation and reduce operational fatigue.

The large working distance provides ample space for larger culture bottles, and the unobstructed free observation design of the sample area enables the disposal of specimens with greater detection difficulty.

The LED lighting unit has a compact structure and a service life of up to 50000 hours. The service life of LED is 250 times longer than that of conventional halogen lamps, and it is easy to maintain. With a power of 5W, it emits light efficiently, has a constant color temperature, and produces very little heat. With the help of matching filters, it can ensure lighting effects in any color tone. In addition, users can activate the built-in automatic shutdown function to save energy and electricity.

DMIL LED also has a heating table and heating plug suitable for live cell microscopy, as well as a multi person viewing connector that can accommodate simultaneous observation by two observers.
