The water (medium) containing target suspended particles to be filtered enters the backwash filter through the inlet, and is distributed to each filter element through the inlet chamber. Target suspended particles larger than the required filtration accuracy are intercepted on the inner surface of the filter element. Qualified water that meets the requirements passes through the filter layer of the filter element, collects in the outlet chamber between the upper and lower partitions, and flows out through the outlet of the cylinder.
As the filtration time prolongs, the target suspended particles trapped on the inner surface of the filter element gradually increase, and the filter element gradually becomes clogged, resulting in a gradual increase in pressure difference between the inside and outside of the filter element. When the set filtering time or set pressure difference is reached, the controller sends a backwash command to control the opening and closing of the drain valve, and uses the system's own pressure to backwash the filter elements one by one, discharging the trapped substances of the filter elements outside the filter, thereby restoring the filtering function of the filter elements to their initial intact state.
The filter element in the filter is evenly distributed around the circumference inside the cylinder. The indexing mechanism of the filter can effectively ensure that the sealing plate and suction cup seal both ends of the filter element one by one, and the filter element is backwashed clean one by one, completing a backwash of all filter elements in one circle.
Due to the fact that this design ensures that the water (medium) containing solid suspended particles to be filtered can only enter the outlet after passing through the filter element, thus effectively ensuring the filtration quality. By replacing the filter with a different filter element that meets the backwash requirements, it can adapt to various precision filtration requirements.

The fully automatic backwash filter has the function of filtering raw water and automatically cleaning and discharging the filter element, and the system provides uninterrupted water supply during cleaning and discharging. Set the filtering time on the filtering timer. When the filtering time is up, start the sewage discharge, and the sewage discharge time is set by the sewage discharge time timer; At the same time, the control system compares the system pressure difference with the user set pressure difference in real time. When the system pressure difference reaches the set pressure difference, the filter also cleans and discharges, and the discharge time is set by the discharge time timer. When the discharge time is up, stop cleaning and restore the system to its initial state, preparing for the next filtration process. When the system malfunctions, the cleaning button can be manually pressed, and the equipment will be forced to manually drain and clean.


Backwash process

The backwash filtration is as follows:
1. The gear motor drives the flushing arm to rotate through the intermediate shaft, and the rotation angle of the flushing arm is controlled by the positioning switch to align with the cleaned filter element.
2. The drain valve opens, creating a pressure difference between the outside (clean side) of the cleaned filter element and the drain outlet.
3. Under the pressure difference, the cleaning side fluid flows from the outside to the inside of the cleaned filter element for backwashing. The pollutants accumulated on the inside of the filter element are washed away and discharged from the filter through the drain outlet.
4. The backwash time for each filter element has been set to 1.5 seconds. When the backwash set time is reached, the drain valve closes, and the backwash process for that filter element ends. The gear motor drives the backwash arm to rotate again, backwashing the next filter element. The drain valve opens again, and so on, backwashing each filter element.
5. After all filter elements are cleaned, the flushing arm returns to its original position under the control of the zero position switch, and a backwash cycle ends.
Due to the fact that backwashing is a process of flushing one filter element at a time, the filter can still maintain a continuous filtering state during the backwashing process.

Backwash process setting
Differential pressure setting: The differential pressure gauge on the filter is equipped with two differential pressure transmission points for setting the differential pressure of the filter. The first communication point sets the backwash process of the filter; The second communication point is used to monitor the working status of the filter, for users to choose from, and can be connected to the remote control room.
Time setting: The filter control box is equipped with a time setting device, which can set the interval time of the filter backwashing process according to user requirements.
The pressure difference setting and time setting are the automatic backwash setting process, and the pressure difference setting takes priority when both settings exist simultaneously.
Manual start: In addition to setting the pressure difference and time for automatic backwashing process, the TEST button can also be used for manual backwashing process during debugging and maintenance.

This machine is a vertical cylindrical structure equipped with a pressure difference control instrument. The top is a backwash drive device and an additional photoelectric positioning system. The cylinder body is divided into two parts: the upper part is equipped with a stainless steel filter element, and the lower part is equipped with a sewage suction cup and sewage pipe. The turbid water flows out of the outlet pipe from bottom to top through the filter element to supply customers with clean water. Filter impurities, and the filter residue is automatically discharged through the suction cup and drain pipe during backwashing through the drain valve.
The filter element equipped with this machine is made of high-quality stainless steel, with a filtration accuracy of less than 1.0mm. It is made by winding and welding trapezoidal cross-section stainless steel wire on a multi sided skeleton. A filtering gap is formed between each adjacent pair of wires, creating a V-shaped area facing the direction of water flow to collect particles larger than the gap. The V-shaped area also provides an appropriate release angle to facilitate the smooth discharge of filter residue during backwashing. Multiple forms of filter elements can be used according to user water treatment requirements for filtration accuracy above 1.0mm.

Control parameter setting


The pressure difference setting value for the backwash process is adjustable from 0-1.6 bar. The first point setting value (set to 0.5 bar at the factory) controls the start of the filter backwash process. The second point can be set according to user needs and send the pressure difference signal to the remote control room to monitor the working condition of the filter.
The time settings (EPT, EU, and PTZ) are adjustable from 45 minutes to 47.25 hours.
