The radiation shield can prevent solar radiation from heating the sensor and causing measurement errors. The radiation shield also provides a certain degree of protection to prevent damage to the sensor caused by severe weather such as hail or rainstorm. The most common radiation shield is a relatively small, naturally ventilated, low rise cover that requires low maintenance and does not require power supply.

On site calibration
