1、 Purpose and Scope of Application

JCB0090-02 typeEngine coolant freezing point testerIt is designed and manufactured in accordance with the requirements of the Chinese standard GB/T2430 "Determination of Freezing Point of Jet Fuel" and the Chinese petrochemical industry standard SH/T0090 "Determination of Freezing Point of Engine Coolant". It is a multi-purpose freezing point tester that can be used to determine indicators such as the freezing point of jet fuel, engine coolant, and their concentrates by selecting different configurations.

2、 Main technical specifications and parameters

1. Working power supply: AC220V ± 10%; 50Hz。

2. Working cold tank: Dewar flask, which can observe the testing process at any time.

3. Cold bath temperature control:+20 ℃ to -65 ℃.

4. Temperature control accuracy: ± 0.5 ℃.

5. Bath liquid stirring: The stirring motor automatically stirs.

6. Refrigeration system: imported compressor cascade refrigeration.

7. Sample stirring: Electromagnetic stirring, (60-80) times/minute.

8. Environmental temperature: ≤ 30 ℃.

9. Relative humidity: ≤ 85%.

10. Power consumption of the whole machine: 1800W.

3、 Main structure

This instrument consists of two parts, the control and workbench on the right, and the compressor refrigeration part on the left.

On the right: there are mainly observable working Dewar flasks, mixing parts, and control panel parts.

Left: Refrigeration studio, equipped with refrigeration compressors and various components.

4、 Installation of instruments

1. Place the instrument on a flat and sturdy workbench.

2. Open the packaging box and count the spare parts according to the complete table in the instruction manual.

3. It is recommended to use alcohol as the refrigerant in the cold tank.

4. Plug in the power cord on the back cover of the instrument, and the power supply must have a good grounding terminal.

5、 Usage method

(1) Preparation before testing

2. Before conducting the experiment, please carefully read the petrochemical industry standard SH/T0090 "Determination of Freezing Point of Engine Coolant" of the People's Republic of China, understand and familiarize yourself with the test methods, test steps, and test requirements described in the standard.

3. Prepare various testing instruments, materials, etc. for the experiment according to the requirements specified in the standard, and make preparations for the experiment.

4. Check the working status of this instrument, which should comply with the working environment and conditions specified in the manual.

5. Check the casing of this instrument, which must be in good grounding condition.

(2) Usage method

A、 Preparation of experimental conditions

1. Add an appropriate amount of alcohol to the Dewar flask.

2. Install a dedicated freezing point test tube into the top testing hole of the Dewar flask and connect the test stirrer.

3. Plug in the external power supply and turn on the power switch.

4. Set the temperature controller to the desired temperature (e.g. -60 ℃) by pressing the SET button on the temperature controller, causing the SV display window to flash. Set the desired test temperature, and then press the SET button to confirm the set temperature.

5. Turn on the cooling switch, and the instrument enters the cooling working state. When the temperature reaches the set temperature control requirement, sample testing can be carried out.

Special attention:

1. Before the instrument is officially cooled down, please use a clean cloth dipped in a small amount of glycerin to gently apply it to the outside of the double-layer observation window to prevent or reduce the possibility of frost outside the observation window.

2. If there is frost or ice outside the double-layer observation window that affects observation, a clean cloth dipped in glycerin or alcohol can be used to gently wipe off the frost or ice.

B、 Freezing point test of engine coolant and its concentrate

1. Measure 85 milliliters of the sample and pour it into a clean and dry freezing point test tube. At the same time, place the mixer (stainless steel multi ring ring component) into the freezing point test tube, plug it with a stopper, and insert the test thermometer.

2. Place the freezing point test tube containing the sample, stirrer, stopper, and thermometer into a Dewar flask, and then connect the stirrer to the upper stirring rod.

3. Turn on the power switch, cooling switch, mixing switch, and the two green mixing buttons on the right side in sequence.

4. When the sample reaches the expected freezing point, record the temperature every 15 seconds.

5. Draw a time temperature curve on Cartesian paper.

6. Find the steeper part (i.e. cooling curve) and the gentler part (i.e. crystallization curve) of the time temperature curve. The projection point of the intersection point of the cooling curve and crystallization curve on the vertical axis is the freezing point of the sample (as shown in Figure 3). If the sample experiences supercooling, the highest temperature reached by the rapid increase in sample temperature after supercooling is the freezing point of the sample (as shown in Figure 4).

7. The experiment should be strictly conducted according to the test steps specified in SH/T0090-91.

6、 Precautions

1. Before plugging in the instrument, an appropriate amount of alcohol must be added to the cold bath, otherwise it is strictly prohibited to turn it on!

2. Due to the thermal expansion and contraction process of alcohol at low temperatures, the amount added should not exceed 2 centimeters above the top of the Dewar flask when the instrument reaches the temperature control state and is placed in the test tube required for the experiment. Remember! Pay attention to regularly adding alcohol to the cold tank to compensate for the evaporation loss of alcohol, and promptly remove the test tube and electromagnetic stirring rack after the experiment is completed.

3. If you want to reset the bath temperature (which is higher than the current bath temperature) after completing the low-temperature test, you must turn off the cooling switch until the bath temperature reaches ± 1 ℃ around the temperature control point, and then turn on the cooling switch again.

4. Regularly replace the alcohol in the Dewar flask to ensure clarity in the cold tank.

5. To use the compressor correctly, after starting the compressor unit, unless in an emergency, the refrigeration switch can only be turned off after 10 minutes; After turning off the compressor, it takes 10 minutes to turn on the cooling switch again.

Warning: In case of instrument malfunction, the power should be immediately cut off. After the instrument cold bath returns to room temperature, professional personnel should be hired to repair and eliminate the fault before continuing to use to prevent accidents!
