Currently, the detection of idle time mostly uses the electric stopwatch method, which has high detection accuracy. However, due to its relatively high cost, it is rarely used in actual testing. In order to accurately detect the idle time at a lower cost, researchers have studied and designed various methods for detecting the idle time of disc brakes. A detection system consisting of a test circuit board, signal processing module, acquisition card, and computer was designed using the working principle of relays, and the detection system was tested using the Labview program module; The idle time has been detected, and the system consists of intelligent sensors, data acquisition devices, industrial control computers, etc. in hardware, and a parameter display interface developed through Kingview in software; During the actual operation of the hoist, the idle time of the disc brake was calculated using a timer.

Measure the operating speed of the hoist using a rotary encoder during the braking process, determine the initial braking speed and time based on the speed curve, and then calculate the braking deceleration; Ge Pinghua et al. used SZGB11 photoelectric sensors and attached black and white line drawings on the circumference of the spindle. During braking, they obtained pulses proportional to the speed and black and white lines, and then calculated the speed and deceleration.
