EMG thruster EB1250-60The braking process of a disc brake is an energy conversion process, in which the kinetic energy of the mechanical system is converted into frictional heat energy. Some of the heat is dissipated into the air, while the majority of the remaining heat is absorbed by the brake, which can cause an increase in the temperature of the brake friction pair. Excessive temperature rise can cause changes in the physical and chemical properties of friction materials, resulting in thermal degradation of braking performance. According to whether the temperature sensor is in contact with the brake component, the detection methods of brake temperature can be divided into direct method and indirect method. The direct method can be divided into pre embedding method and pre embedding method. This method is commonly used in friction test benches or friction testing machines, where thermocouples are pre-set on the surface of the friction disc to pick up the average temperature of the friction disc surface. By simulating the braking process of a car on the designed brake inertia test bench, temperature measuring thermocouples were installed inside the brake shoes and brake linings to detect and analyze the brake temperature.

The basic idea of the indirect method is to indirectly calculate the temperature of the friction pair by detecting the temperature related to the braking temperature. The implementation of this method requires the help of heat transfer equations and relevant theories of heat conduction. The indirect method is mainly used in situations where the temperature measurement space is limited by structure or materials, and in working conditions where the temperature measuring element cannot be directly installed on the friction pair. By using temperature sensors to detect the ambient temperature of a closed chamber in the braking system, the temperature of the friction plate can be indirectly calculated, and the temperature rise of the friction pair during the braking process can be obtained. The vibration and noise caused by friction during the braking process are also factors that reflect the instability of braking performance. Moreover, vibration and noise can seriously affect the driving safety, comfort, and environmental protection of traffic vehicles.
