Introduction to Double Cone Mixer
1Double cone mixerThe structure and principle of the mixer
The cylinder of a double cone mixer is composed of two cones at both ends and a cylinder (or two pyramids, one prism) in the middle. As shown in the figure, it is also a widely used hybrid device at present.
The cylinder of the double cone mixer is connected to the drive shaft. When the transmission device drives the drive shaft to rotate, the conical cylinder body rotates accordingly, and the material inside the cylinder body forms a rolling motion like in a drum type mixer. At the same time, due to the conical structure inside the cylinder, the material is forced to move between axes during the up and down movement, repeatedly stacking, resulting in uniformly distributed mixing in both longitudinal and transverse directions.
2Scope of application of double cone mixer
The double cone mixer is suitable for mixing powders with similar particle size and apparent density, with a loading factor of 0.3-0.5. A forced baffle can be added inside the cylinder of the double cone mixer to enhance the mixing effect and applicability of the double cone mixer.
Due to the special shape of the double cone mixer, a jacket can be added outside its cylinder for introducing cooling or heating media. The cylinder can be operated under normal pressure or vacuum, demonstrating the machine's multiple uses.
