In the late spring of 2003, sampling personnel from a certain enterprise carried one sample bottle, one copper sampler, and one sampling basket (wire basket) to conduct sampling operations on the top of the light oil tank in the tank area. When collecting samples from the lower and upper parts of the tank, an accident occurred while transferring the samples from the sampler to the sample bottle. The sample bottle overturned, and a small amount of light oil inside the bottle spilled onto the top of the tank. To prevent the sample bottle from tipping over, the sampling personnel went to hold the sample bottle. At the same time, the spilled oil caught fire. The sampling personnel immediately covered the sampling port on the top of the tank, moved the already ignited sampler and sampling rope to the ladder, and called for an alarm from the staff not far below the tank at the top. After the sampling rope and oil port were burned out, they went out. Although this accident did not cause any casualties or property damage, it indicates that there are serious safety hazards in manual sampling of tank tops.

The outer part of the tank is the control box, including pipelines, matching flanges, and an operation box (which contains emergency shut-off valves, manual pumps, sampling valves, etc.).

It is mainly suitable for sampling the upper, middle, and lower sampling points of oil products in floating roof tanks and dome roof tanks. The applicable media mainly include liquid media samples such as aviation kerosene, naphtha, gasoline, diesel, kerosene, crude oil, wax oil, asphalt, residual oil, chemical raw materials, etc. It is also suitable for sampling edible oil, palm oil, soybean oil, peanut oil, vegetable oil, sesame oil, sunflower seed oil, salad oil, blended oil and other oil products.
