Introduction to bucket elevator/bucket elevator

1、 Selection of bucket elevator:

As a commonly used vertical lifting and conveying equipment, the selection of bucket elevator generally depends on the following factors:

  1. Form of material: whether the material is in powder, granular, small block or large block form.
  2. Physical properties of materials: whether the material has adsorption or viscosity, and whether it contains water.
  3. Specific gravity of materials: Generally, the parameters of bucket elevators are designed and calculated for materials with a stacking density of 1.6 or less. For materials with a density that is too large, calculations of traction force and tensile strength of the transmission part are required.
  4. Transport volume per unit time.

Generally speaking, the form of the material directly determines the unloading method of the material. The common rule is that powdery materials are unloaded by centrifugal ejection, and block materials are unloaded by gravity. The different unloading methods determine the different hopper forms used in bucket elevators. Centrifugal ejection unloading mostly uses shallow and curved buckets, while gravity unloading requires deep buckets. The material conveying capacity per unit time varies depending on the type of hopper used in the bucket elevator. The final conveying capacity of a bucket elevator depends on a comprehensive parameter of hopper form, hopper speed, material density, material properties, and hopper quantity.

The performance parameters of the bucket elevator vary due to changes in conveying capacity and height, so accurate specifications, conveying capacity, chain (belt) speed, power, etc. need to be determined through calculation. 2、 Belt type bucket elevator (D/TD/TDG)

2.1 Overview of TD bucket elevator

  • Main structure: The TD bucket elevator consists of a running part (hopper and traction tape), an upper section with a transmission drum, a lower section with a tension drum, a middle multi section casing, a driving device, a reverse braking device, etc;
  • Applicable materials: TD bucket elevator is suitable for vertical conveying of loose density ρ < 1.5t/m3Powder, granular, and small block shaped non abrasive and semi abrasive bulk materials, such as grains, coal, sand, cement, crushed ore powder, etc. The material temperature shall not exceed 60 ℃.
  • Height increase: up to 40m
  • Design and Manufacturing Standard: JB3926-85 "Vertical Bucket Elevator"
  • Loading and discharging: Adopt digging type loading or inflow type feeding, and gravity induced centrifugal ejection unloading. The hopper is densely arranged, with almost no material return during material lifting, and less scattering during feeding and unloading, reducing mechanical wear and tear;
  • Hopper form: 4 types of hoppers to choose from: Q-type (shallow hopper), H-type (arc bottom hopper), ZD type (medium deep hopper), SD type (deep hopper).
    Shallow hopper: Conveys materials that are damp, prone to clumping, and difficult to throw out. Such as wet sand, wet coal, etc.
    Deep hopper: Conveys dry, loose, and easily thrown materials. Such as grains, cement, mineral powder, coal blocks, quartz sand, etc.
  • Other features: Good overall sealing and minimal environmental pollution.

3、 Loop chain bucket elevator (HL/TH/THG)

3.1 HL type bucket elevator

  • Main structure: HL type circular chain centrifugal bucket elevator, consisting of a moving part (hopper and two traction chains), an upper section with a transmission sprocket, a lower section with a tension sprocket, a middle housing, a driving device, a reverse braking device, etc. The wheel rim adopts a combination sprocket, which is easy to replace, and the sprocket rim has a long service life after special treatment. The lower device adopts a gravity automatic tensioning device, which can maintain a constant tension, avoid slipping or chain detachment, and has a certain degree of tolerance to effectively protect moving parts when the hopper encounters resistance;
  • Applicable materials: HL type circular chain centrifugal bucket elevator is suitable for vertically conveying powdery, granular, and small block materials with high grinding properties, such as grain, coal, sand, cement, crushed ore powder, etc. The material temperature shall not exceed 250 ℃.
  • Height increase: up to 40m
  • Design and Manufacturing Standard: JB3926-85 "Vertical Bucket Elevator"
  • Loading and Discharging: Pull out Loading, Mixed or Gravity Unloading
  • Hopper form: 2 types of hoppers to choose from: Q-type (shallow hopper), S-type (deep hopper).

3.2 TH type circular chain bucket elevator
