Belt conveyor drum

A belt conveyor is a continuous conveying equipment that uses a conveyor belt as a traction and load-bearing component to transport materials through the movement of the conveyor belt carrying the materials. A belt conveyor is a type of conveyor and is widely used. It can be combined with other conveying equipment to form a complex assembly line. The selection of the drum is important in the design of the belt conveyor, and the main indicator for selecting the drum is the diameter of the drum. Choosing large-diameter rollers is beneficial for the conveyor belt. But as the diameter of the drum increases, the mass of the driving drum, the reduction ratio of the driving device reducer, the mass and size of the reducer all need to increase accordingly. The selection of drum diameter mainly considers the following factors:

1. The bending stress of the conveyor belt when it passes around the drum.
2. The frequency of bending of the conveyor belt is related to the winding method, the number of rollers bypassed, the distance and speed of transportation.
3. The average specific pressure between the conveyor belt and the drum surface.
4. Allowable strength utilization rate of conveyor belt.
5. The installation location and usage conditions of the conveyor (such as ground, underground, outdoor, mobile, fixed, etc.).
6. Packaging and deformation of packaging.
