This rheometer is an ideal choice for meeting measurement accuracy requirements. The combination of two drive units allows you to perform rheological measurements using either the motor sensor integrated (CMT) mode or the motor sensor separated (SMT) mode. By using an EC motor supported by a single air bearing in CMT mode, you can fully utilize the real-time position control (TruStrain) function of the motor and perform "traditional" stress control testing. In SMT mode, one motor is used only as a torque sensor, while the other motor is used as a driving unit to obtain results. This makes this rheometer an ideal choice even for transient processes such as stress relaxation, initiation of shear measurements, or wide frequency range oscillation testing.

In reverse motion mode, this rheometer uses two EC motors supported by air bearings as the driving unit, and employs torque sensors that move in opposite directions. For example, a fixed stationary surface can be created in the sample and visualized using a microscope to conduct structural analysis throughout the entire measurement process. Combined with the UXF stretching fixture, this mode can also perform tensile testing, measure extremely low torque, and achieve elongation at Hencky strain greater than 8. With these features, this rheometer can more comprehensively characterize strain hardening. The reverse motion mode is "twice the result with half the effort", with a speed difference of up to 6000 rpm.
MCR 703 is not only a rotational rheometer, but also a multifunctional rheometer that supports dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). It replaces the lower rotary drive with a linear drive and performs DMA analysis using measurement fixtures such as three-point bending, cantilever beams, or parallel plates in bending or compression mode. In addition, combining measurement fixtures for thin film, fiber, rectangular, and cylindrical samples, linear actuators can be used for tensile mode DMA analysis, while upper rotary actuators can be used for torsional mode DMA analysis. This can also enable DMA analysis of axial tension torsion pendulum of a single sample through a single testing program, and determine Poisson's ratio, as well as quickly achieve orientation related characterization of anisotropic materials.
The MCR 703 Space MultiDrive further enhances the performance of our flagship rheometer MCR 703 MultiDrive. It is designed specifically for various rheological research and combination methods, with unique modularity, flexibility, operational freedom, and functional scalability. The open instrument design maximizes the workspace, allowing you to connect the MCR 703 Space MultiDrive with various external settings for material characterization (such as simultaneous confocal microscopy observation and rheological testing). In addition, the independent electronic equipment of the rheometer allows it to be installed in limited space or laboratory glove boxes, and can work normally even under inert gas (nitrogen, argon) atmospheres, such as for high-temperature measurement of samples with certain levels of danger.
The MCR 703 MultiDrive and MCR 703 Space MultiDrive can be used in conjunction with any identifiable measurement system, temperature control device, and/or specialized accessory in the Anton Paar MCR series to conduct standard and complex rheological analyses. This makes this testing platform not only suitable for rheology and DMA analysis, but also for use as a powder rheometer, friction tester, and testing machine. The Toolmaster function can automatically identify and configure all connected devices and measurement systems. In addition, with the QuickConnect feature, the measurement system can be connected with one hand. This modular design gives our rheometer a high degree of flexibility, ensuring that the configuration can be easily adjusted according to your needs.
