In 2019, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment launched a pollution investigation at the mouth of the Yangtze River basin, spanning 11 provinces (cities) and involving 2.4 kilometers of coastline. The investigation work at the mouth of the river was completed in three batches within one year, and four tasks including investigation, monitoring, tracing, and remediation were completed within two years.
