3. SDI measurement method
The measurement of SDI value data is based on ASTM (American Standard for Testing Material) 4189-95 standard, which refers to the blockage rate of a certain volume of test water sample (usually 150ml, 500ml) passing through a microporous filtration membrane with a pore size of 0.45um and a diameter of Φ 47mm at a certain pressure (30psi, equivalent to 2.1kg/cm) and standard time interval (usually 5min, 10min, 15min).
The calculation formula for SDI value is as follows:
T0: The time required to filter a certain volume of water sample at the beginning of the test
Ø Tn: The time required to filter and obtain the same volume of water sample n minutes after the start of the test
Generally, the value of n is 15 minutes. When the amount of pollutants in the water is high, the filtered water volume can be taken as 150ml, 300ml, etc., and the interval time can be changed to 10 minutes, 5 minutes, etc. The value of 15 in the calculation formula is also adjusted accordingly to 10 and 5.
During each test, the pressure and temperature should remain stable, with pressure fluctuations not exceeding ± 5% and water temperature fluctuations not exceeding ± 1 ℃. Otherwise, the data obtained from the test will be invalidated and need to be re measured;
