Shandong Weihai 100mw flywheel energy storage phase one successfully connected to the grid

On July 31, 2025, the 100 megawatt flywheel energy storage secondary frequency regulation power station - Boding Energy Storage 110kV Baisha Shengshi Energy Storage Power Station Phase I project was successfully connected to the grid in Rushan, Weihai. The large-scale flywheel energy storage is a blank in the independent frequency regulation of the power system. The project adopts vacuum magnetic levitation flywheel technology, which has advantages such as millisecond level response, over 20 years of service life, unlimited charging and discharging, etc. The frequency modulation efficiency is 35% higher than traditional chemical energy storage, and the total life cycle cost is reduced by 40%. Aoxu Zhaochen undertook the temperature control system unit for this project and received high praise from the customer. Through modular design and intelligent collaborative control, a replicable and promotable industry experience has been formed, providing key technical support for the construction of new power systems.
