The 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was officially announced on October 8th, and three scientists, Susumu Kitagawa, Richard Robson, and Omar M. Yaghi, were awarded for their joint discovery of a novel molecular structure called Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs).

Zeiss microscopes have maintained close cooperation with Professor Kitagawa's team and their affiliated Kyoto University for a long time.

2019In the year, Zeiss and Kyoto UniversityiCeMSresearch institute(Institute for Integrated Cell-Material Sciences)Jointly createdZeissiCeMSInnovation Core Center(ZEISS iCeMS Innovation Core).

Since the establishment of the center, Professor Kitagawa Jin and his research team have been using Zeiss microscopy imaging equipment to continuously develop metal organic frameworks(MOFs)Frontier exploration.

Professor Kitagawa's team extensively utilized electron microscopy systems such as Zeiss field emission scanning electron microscopy and double beam electron microscopy,Exploring novel construction methods for stable and functionally specific porous metal organic framework molecules at the nanoscale, continuously practicing innovative inspirations for the coordination and integration of micro materials and cell biology.

The center not only assists Professor Kitagawa's team in conducting material research, but also undertakes important responsibilities in life science research, continuously helping the research institute and Kyoto University to bring new discoveries.
