sample tubeIt is a universal consumable used in laboratories for storing, transporting, and processing liquid or solid samples. Its core advantages are portability, corrosion resistance, controllable cost, and adaptability to multi scenario experimental needs. The following is a detailed introduction:
Core materials and safety features
The mainstream materials include polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polycarbonate (PC), polystyrene (PS), etc., all of which meet the safety standards for laboratory consumables.
Does not contain DNase/RNase, pyrogen free, endotoxin free. Some models have been sterilized by irradiation (SAL 10 ⁻⁶) to avoid contaminating samples or interfering with experimental results.
Strong chemical stability, acid and alkali resistance, and resistance to common organic solvents such as ethanol, methanol, and buffer solutions. Different materials are suitable for different samples. PP has a wide temperature range (-80 ℃ to 121 ℃) and is suitable for high-temperature sterilization; PC has strong compressive strength and is suitable for centrifugal scenarios; PE has low adsorption capacity and is suitable for storing nucleic acid and protein samples.
Specification and structural design
sample tubeDifferent needs.
The structure is divided into covered (screw cap, press cap) and uncovered types. The covers are often equipped with sealing gaskets (silicone, butyl rubber, etc.), which have excellent sealing performance and prevent sample leakage, evaporation, or cross contamination.
The tube wall is transparent or semi transparent, making it easy to observe the sample status. Some models have scale markings (error ≤ ± 2%), supporting precise sampling and quantification.
The tube body can have written markings or frosted marking areas for easy sample numbering and information recording. Some models support barcode printing and are compatible with automated experimental processes.
Applicable scenarios and core advantages
Widely used in fields such as biology, chemistry, medicine, and environmental testing, it can be used for sample storage (freezing, refrigeration, room temperature), centrifugal separation, reagent packaging, microbial cultivation, and other operations.
Lightweight and not easily broken, compared to glasssample tubeSafer, easier for bulk transportation and experimental operations.
The cost is lower than glass consumables, and it can be used once (to avoid cross contamination) or reused (with stable performance after cleaning and disinfection), flexibly adapting to different experimental budgets.
Standardized size, compatible with laboratory equipment such as centrifuge rotors, sample racks, and automatic samplers, with strong compatibility.
