The He3 gas detector is mainly composed of a wireless handheld device and a neutron detector. The neutron detector transmits measurement data to the handheld terminal through Lora wireless communication. Users can set alarm thresholds, device addresses, calibration factors, and other parameters through handheld terminals. The neutron detector and handheld terminal are both powered by built-in lithium batteries. This device can monitor the neutron dose rate around on-site personnel in real time, providing more optimized radiation protection for on-site workers. Portable neutron dosimeters are mainly suitable for detecting radiation neutron dose rates in accelerators, reactor engineering, nuclear fuel production plants, medical irradiation sites, neutron irradiation devices, and other places.
The working principle of neutron dose rate meter:
The neutron dose rate meter is mainly used to measure the dose rate of neutron radiation, and its core principle is based on the interaction between neutrons and detection materials:
-Neutrons themselves are not charged and cannot directly ionize matter. They need to undergo nuclear reactions (such as elastic scattering, capture reactions) with detection materials (such as hydrogen containing substances, boron, lithium, etc.) to produce charged particles (such as protons, alpha particles, etc.).
-These charged particles cause ionization effects inside the detector, generating electrical signals. The instrument amplifies and processes the signals to convert the neutron dose rate (usually in Sv/h or rem/h).
