The power of dual cylinder air-cooled diesel generators varies from 10KW, 12KW, to 15KW.

Silent generators have certain requirements for the operating environment, including temperature, altitude, humidity, etc. When the generator set is damp, we can restore normal use by drying it. There are also specially designed generator sets for use in different altitude areas. When the temperature is too high, we can also use both external cooling and the cooling system of the generator set. However, there is another detail worth paying attention to in terms of temperature, which is the thermal offset of the voltage.

When the ambient temperature and the temperature of the generator itself increase, the magnetic permeability of the generator core decreases, the DC resistance of the winding increases, and the parameters of the circuit components change, causing a change in the output voltage of the generator set. This phenomenon is called voltage thermal offset. Usually, the voltage thermal offset of the generator set is expressed by the percentage of the voltage change caused by the temperature rise to the rated voltage, and generally does not exceed 2%.

The faults of the silent generator set transformer include phase to phase short circuit, grounding short circuit, turn to turn short circuit, wire breakage, as well as burning of the iron core and faults of the bushing and lead wire. When a fault occurs outside the transformer, due to the large short-circuit current flowing through its winding, the temperature of the transformer will rise, and the transformer will operate under overload and overexcitation for a long time, which will also cause overheating and insulation damage to the winding and iron core. The transformer should be shut down for the following abnormalities: ① Transformer catching fire or smoking; ② Terminal overheating and melting, resulting in non full phase operation; ③ Shell rupture and significant oil leakage (for wet transformers); ④ The casing has serious rupture and discharge phenomena.

After the generator malfunctions, the cause and location of the malfunction should be identified first, and then corresponding measures should be taken to eliminate it. If necessary, it should be handled by professional generator repair or manufacturing enterprises. Precautions for the use of current transformers: For high-voltage windings, the secondary winding must be reliably grounded for protection during operation. This way, when the primary and secondary windings are broken down by high voltage due to insulation damage, the high voltage can be led to the ground to ensure personal and equipment safety. The secondary side of the current transformer must not have an open circuit. Maintenance items and maintenance cycle of transformers: The internal maintenance cycle of voltage transformers is once every 10 years; The internal maintenance cycle of the current transformer is once every 1-3 years.
