The principle of ultrasonic technology for valve testing
When fluid flows from the high-pressure side of the valve to the low-pressure side through the valve body, turbulence is generated; Turbulence generates ultrasonic signals. And ultrasonic testing instruments can detect the ultrasonic signals generated by turbulence through probes, and convert the ultrasonic signals into audible sound for the human ear through the "heterodyne method". The sound can be listened to through headphones, and the strength of the signal can be seen on the display screen(dBValue).
By adjusting the frequency and sensitivity of the instrument's reception, the impact of fluid viscosity and pipeline system noise can be reduced. Ultrasonic waveform analysis software can also provide a spectrum of ultrasonic signals to assist in determining the state of fluid operation.
