09185=A=3500Trace Dissolved Oxygen MembraneIt is a component produced by HACH company for measuring dissolved oxygen in water quality online analyzers.

  • function and roleIt is an important component of the oxygen electrode, located on the working electrode surface of the oxygen electrode. Its main function is to prevent other gases and solutions from entering the interior of the electrode, allowing only oxygen to pass through. At the same time, it can provide a stable mass transfer channel, allowing oxygen to quickly reach the electrode surface and participate in electrode reactions, thereby ensuring measurement accuracy.

  • Measuring principleBased on the Clark battery principle, the dissolved oxygen membrane separates the water sample from the electrode, applies a constant voltage to both electrodes, and maintains the potential of each electrode constant. The dissolved oxygen in the water sample will undergo a reduction reaction on the electrode, generating a diffusion current. The magnitude of the current is proportional to the concentration of dissolved oxygen, and the measured current is converted into the concentration of dissolved oxygen in the water sample and displayed.

Turn off the power.

1. Unscrew the electrode cap and pour out the remaining filling solution.

2. Take a new electrode cap and fill it with new electrolyte.

There is a groove on the electrode thread, which allows excess air and electrolyte to be discharged. Hold the electrode vertically, with the electrode probe facing downwards and the groove on the upper side.

3. Gently tighten the electrode cap to allow excess electrolyte to be discharged without generating too much pressure inside the electrode.

4. Clean the electrode and dry the sensing film with a soft tissue.

Connect the power supply. Let the electrode run in the air for at least 30 minutes, not less than 1 hour. Afterwards, perform air calibration and reinstall the electrode after completing the calibration.
