Positive pressure method is like inflating a tire and checking for air leaks. It involves filling the tank with a certain pressure of gas and placing it in water or monitoring pressure changes through a pressure sensor. If bubbles emerge or the pressure drops, it indicates that there is a leak in the tank and the sealing performance is not qualified. Taking a certain food enterprise as an example, during the production of canned goods, the positive pressure method was used for sealing testing. After filling the can with a certain pressure of air and placing it in water, fine bubbles were found to emerge. After inspection, it was found that there were small gaps at the welding seam of the can body. After timely adjustment of the production process, the sealing of the product was effectively guaranteed.

The operation of the negative pressure method is different. It first evacuates the tank and then places it in a sealed testing chamber, filling the chamber with gas. At this point, if there is a leak in the tank, external gas will enter the tank, causing a change in pressure inside the testing chamber. The tester can capture this change through a pressure sensor to determine the sealing performance of the tank. For example, in the production of drug packaging with high sealing requirements, negative pressure method is often used to detect the sealing of the tank body, ensuring that the drug is not contaminated by external air and microorganisms.
