TEROS 22 Soil Water Potential Temperature Sensor

TEROS 22 is a full range soil water potential sensor developed by METER based on 40 years of experience in water potential sensor production. On the basis of inheriting the characteristics of TEROS 21 sensor, it has achieved a more exquisite appearance and easier installation. Simply drill a 1.6 cm hole with an electric drill to install TEROS 22.
working principle
The TEROS 22 sensor consists of a humidity sensor and a porous material with a known moisture characteristic curve. When the porous material reaches moisture equilibrium with the surrounding soil, the humidity sensor measures the moisture content of the porous material and converts it into water potential based on the moisture characteristic curve.
Main Features
· Installation and removal are both very convenient, just drill a hole with a diameter of 1.6 cm to install.
· Wide measurement range of 0-100000 kPa, achieving full range soil water potential monitoring.
· Easy maintenance, no need for water injection, and will not be damaged in low-temperature freezing environments.
· No need for further calibration: There is no drift caused by degradation in ceramic materials with silica matrix.
· Salt insensitivity: Even in high salt environments and soils with varying salt content, the sensor remains accurate.
· Additional temperature measurement: At the same time, it can obtain another important indicator of plant growth.
· Durable and sturdy: The epoxy resin overlay injection molding process ensures its suitability for long-term field monitoring and research.
· Plug and play: As long as the sensor is set up, the data acquisition is connected, the clock and measurement interval are set, and data collection can begin. No programming required.
· Remote data acquisition: When TEROS 22 connects to ZL6 data acquisition, select ZENTRA Cloud service to acquire data through the Internet.
· Compatible with SDI-12: TEROS 21 is almost compatible with all mainstream data acquisition systems that support SDI-12, using a universal communication protocol.
