  1、 Experimental principle
The molar mass of a polymer not only reflects the size of its molecules, but also directly affects its physical properties, making it an important fundamental parameter. Unlike typical inorganic or low molecular weight organic compounds, high polymers are often mixtures of large molecules with different molar masses, so the measured molar mass of high polymers is usually a statistical average.

  2、 Working principle
This instrument is a digital viscometer, driven by a motor through variable speed to rotate the rotor at a constant speed. When the rotor rotates in the liquid, the liquid will generate a viscosity torque acting on the rotor, and the larger the viscosity torque, the greater the viscosity torque;
On the contrary, the lower the viscosity of the liquid, the smaller the viscous torque. The viscous torque acting on the rotor is detected by a sensor and processed by a computer to obtain the viscosity of the measured liquid.

  3、 Structural characteristics of viscosity detector
It consists of an electronic control system, bath, stirring motor, viscosity meter holder, and so on. This device is equipped with four viscometer holders, allowing for simultaneous testing of samples and maintenance of other temperatures. Our viscometer holder has a clever design that allows for easy vertical fixation of the viscometer by adjusting the three positioning screws on the holder.

  4、 Usage conditions
1. The instrument should be placed in a dry, clean, and non corrosive gas environment, and should be placed on a flat and stable test bench.
2. The liquid measured by the instrument is a Newtonian liquid, and its viscosity is independent of shear stress and shear rate.
3. Within different testing temperature ranges, different constant temperature bath liquids should be used for the constant temperature bath.

  5、 Installation
1. Open the packaging box, count the spare parts, and be careful to handle glassware, especially capillary viscometers, with care. Do not forcefully pull or plug them with your hands to avoid damage.
2. Adjust the instrument to a basic level.
3. Add sufficient liquid to the water bath according to the different requirements of the sample for bath temperature.
4. Insert the thermometer into the corresponding hole on the bathtub cover.
5. Connect the three core power cord (the power cord must have a grounding terminal).

  6、 Precautions for use
1. The vertical state of the capillary viscometer can be adjusted by three small screws on the gripper.
2. Glass devices such as capillary viscometers should be handled with care to avoid damage.
3. When installing the thermometer, make sure to position the mercury ball close to the water surface at the center point of the capillary viscometer.
4. When there is not enough liquid in the bathtub, electric heating should not be used to avoid damaging the heating element.
