Its structure is simple, usually consisting of entities with accurate size and shape, such as open ends (gauges) and dead ends (gauges), such as cylinders, cones, block plates, etc. Smooth gauges are mainly divided into three categories: plug gauges, ring gauges, and card gauges.
A plug gauge is a smooth polar gauge used for aperture inspection, with its measuring surface being an outer cylindrical surface, spherical surface, etc. Among them, the plug gauge with a small limit size of the inspected aperture is a hole gauge, and the plug gauge with a large limit size of the inspected aperture is a hole gauge.
