Bubble compensation measurement ensures higher accuracy:
The software of the instrument can automatically compensate for bubbles that affect the measurement. Turbidity is pre calibrated using the calibration curve stored in the instrument. When measuring suspended solids, each calibration curve can be fitted to the laboratory measurement results because it can be corrected using the most three measurement values and one zero point.

The sensor is made of polished stainless steel material with a scratch resistant sapphire window, which can be used in harsh environments. Polished stainless steel helps prevent particles from adhering to the surface of the probe. The memory can store up to 290 measurement values, including time, date, measurement value, measurement location, and homogeneity. Convenient measurement of sludge interface:
The measurement unit is set to mg/L, and the sludge interface can be measured in g/L or percentage. First, calibrate the instrument, and then slowly place the sensor into the sedimentation tank. When the sensor reaches the sludge interface layer, the concentration of suspended solids will significantly increase. After the sensor detects the sludge interface layer, check the meter scale on the sensor cable to determine the depth from the water surface to the sludge interface.

Method for determination of suspended solids in water
Pour the sample into a filter membrane or filter paper instrument that has been dried for filtration. After cooling and drying the filter membrane or filter paper, place it in an oven and dry it at temperatures of 40-50 ℃ and 150 ℃ (the weighing method does not require filtration, a certain volume of sample can be directly dried). When reaching a constant weight, measure its weight. Then, the filter membrane or paper with suspended particles is placed in a platinum or ceramic crucible with a temperature controlled at 600 ℃ and burned. When a constant weight is reached, its weight loss is measured. Calculate the suspended solids mass, residue after burning, and loss after burning, expressed in milligrams per liter.

Measurement steps for suspended solids in water
1. Place a filter paper in a weighing bottle, open the bottle cap, dry at 103-105 ℃ for 2 hours each time, remove, cool down, cover the bottle cap and weigh until constant weight (the difference between the two weighings is 0.0005g).
2. After removing floating debris, shake an appropriate amount of water sample evenly (with a total non filter residue content greater than 2.5mg), filter it through a filter paper weighed to constant weight, and rinse the residue 3-5 times with distilled water. If the sample contains oil, rinse the residue twice with 10 ml of petroleum.
3. Carefully remove the filter paper and place it in the original volumetric flask. In a 103-105 ℃ oven, open the bottle cap and bake for 2 hours each time before taking it out. After cooling, cover the bottle cap and weigh it until it reaches a constant weight.
